Currently, Zhanjiang has four organized aquatic seed breeding systems: genetic breeding centers, national and provincial aquatic seed farms, large-scale breeding bases, and seedling farms. It also has 17 national level aquatic seed farms (a total of 64 in the province) and 16 provincial aquatic seed farms (a total of 57 in the province). Establishing the Zhanjiang Golden Pokfish Research Institute, focusing on the key techniques of artificial breeding of golden pomfrets, and striving to overcome difficulties, we have constructed an integrated breeding, breeding, and promotion system for golden pomfrets, developed 7 industry skill scales for golden pomfrets, and solved the difficulties of negotiating a large number of breeding varieties in the deep sea.

At the same time, Zhanjiang has made efforts to promote the joint growth of high-quality varieties and methods, relying on its vast and far-reaching sea area. Since the beginning of this century, it has been vigorously growing deep-sea net cage aquaculture and actively promoting the transformation and upgrading of fisheries. With the promotion of policies such as increasing the maintenance of offshore conditions and promoting the use of remote and nearby resources, Zhanjiang has proposed to focus on the growth of the "deep blue fishing industry", promote the support of property parks in windward areas of deep-sea net cage aquaculture, lead the evacuation of farmers to form a professional cooperation organization for deep-sea net cage aquaculture, gradually reduce traditional nearshore net cages, and achieve rapid growth in deep-sea net cage aquaculture.

As the largest gold pomfret aquaculture base in China, Zhanjiang mainly uses deep-sea net cage aquaculture as its breeding method. It has built five deep-sea net cage aquaculture parks, including Caotan, Liusha, Xilian, Leizhou Bay, and Zhanjiang Bay, with a total of 3564 deep-sea net cages and three truss type aquaculture platforms.
